Ten years from now, when I am old
I will no longer have to fuss and bother
With anything I don’t want to do.
Then, I’ll put on a turban
Instead of combing my hair
And wear purple slippers
The livelong day.
Ten years from now, I’ll sleep late
Snoring loudly each morning.
And once I finally wake
I’ll fly about, elegant as a butterfly
Accomplishing all I meant to do before.
First, I’ll write a book, inspiring others
Then I’ll sell my house to someone
who needs a cozy place.
Finally, I’ll be completely nice
Helping other people remember
All they have forgotten
For, of course, I will still remember everything.
Ten years from now
My nights will be peaceful dreams
My days, nothing but laughter.
